Famous master of soviet propaganda poster. From the end of 1960s – expressionist painter, creator of portrait and genre paintings. An Honoured Artist of Russian Federation. In the early 1950s Tereshchenko invented principally new kind of poster – he used to make the original one in oil on canvas (instead of easy pencil and water colour technique). That method added to his posters specific artistic quality that brought him a loud fame. Nikolay Tereshchenko was a constant participant of art exhibitions in 1970s and 1980s. Two of his one-man shows took place in Moscow in the mid of 1970s. Paintings by Nikolay Tereshchenko are preserved at some state art museums in Moscow and in Russian province.
