Pavel Pavlovitch Dzhogin
The artist studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts from 1854 till 1962 together with Ivan Shishkin. He received special praise for his Views of Valaam work, painted from nature during summer journeys to the North with his close friends Ivan Shishkin and Alexander Guinet. After graduating from the Academy, he became a regular participant of St. Petersburg art exhibitions. His landscapes, painted in the suburbs of Saint Petersburg, were
famous in the Baltic states and in the south of Russia, which brought the artist many commisions.
The works by Pavel Dzhogin are exhibited in many state museums, as well as private collections.
