The tense political situation in 1930s provoked the technical kind of sport rise to a higher level. From 1928 the USSR hosted regular National Championships in moto-cross , which was especially respected by the country’s ruling elite. This graphic work by Samuil Adlivankin depicts one of those competitions. The artist was a member of artistic groups such as “The New Society of Painters” (NOZH) and “Izobrigade”, which demanded essential novelty in their choice of painting subjects. In the painting, the viewer can see one of the first depictions of the motorcycle L300, one of only 20 special addition motorcycles. This nuance gives the work a special collecting interest.
